quick catch-up

It's been so long since I've written anything. I must actually be doing work!
I find myself distracted and not able to concentrate on my tasks at hand, so what better time to write a lil' ol' update in the DL.
I was on the East Coast for my grandmother's funeral last week, or wait, two weeks ago. My mother called me on a Tuesday night, I flew out first thing Wednesday morning, spent the night in NYC, took a bus out to Worcester, MA Thursday morning, spent the night, did the visitation/funeral/internment Friday then hopped back on the bus to NYC, spent another night there and flew out on Saturday afternoon.
If I wasn't settled back into work after Melbourne, this certainly shook up things. All in all, the trip and time was perfect: low airfare, pleasant travel conditions, quality (other than my father) time with the fam. Seeing an open casket (just the family) did provide closure. Visiting the home where she's been living for the past two years was inspirational. I wish everyone could be so well cared for.
My little Bell-Matic just rang, telling me to take food down to the kids canvassing for the DNC. So, yeah, I bought a watch off of eBay. And I bought a PowerBook. And now I want a Print Gocco. Consume much?
Enough about me... let's feed those kiddies.
